The character Simone in my Marsborn trilogy shares my niece’s name, so it only seemed right that she receive a complete set of the books for her birthday.
Simone was a big help while I was writing the trilogy. She loves to read, and we had a lot of fun talking about the story, sharing ideas, and imagining what the future might look like.
When she came to visit us in Tipp City, the first thing she asked was, “Why did you change the work we did on Chapter 4?” I had to laugh. I explained that the idea we’d worked on deserved its own story, and I wanted to save it for another time. She looked at me for a moment, then gave a slow nod of approval. I think she’ll enjoy that story when it’s finally written. Moments like this make it all worthwhile.
